In April of 2023, to celebrate the release of the Air Jordan 1 Hi “Skyline”, TĀKOUT proudly spotlighted Bronx native Johnuel “BOOGIE” Fland - a 5-star recruit, Team USA U17 Gold medalist, CHSAA 2023 champion and MVP, and one of our very own.

As a rising basketball star with roots deep in the Bronx, Boogie’s story is one of talent, drive, and unshakable family support. Behind every highlight and headline were his greatest supporters - his parents, Shakima and Johnuel - the real MVPs whose love, guidance, and belief helped shape his path.

The campaign underscored our ongoing mission to elevate local voices and celebrate stories that move our culture forward. Through Boogie’s presence in the drop, TĀKOUT paid tribute not only to the sneaker’s legacy, but also to the generations of Bronx excellence that continue to shape its story.
